As you’ll guess, it is not that easy to become an entrepreneur. On every list of entrepreneurs, the people who make the list are those who have qualities that other people just do not have. in particular, their ability to identify and act upon innovative business opportunities & ideas they perceive has been crucial to their success.

For this reason, it is clear that only a small percentage of individuals will make the transition from ordinary blokes and ladies to great entrepreneurs.

The list below will also reveal an amazing diversity in the background and circumstances of famous entrepreneurs.

Bill Gates

Anybody who wants to list entrepreneurs will definitely place Mr. Gates close to the top of his or her list. Bill Gates has been one of the richest men in the world for years and his Microsoft Corporation is still a force to reckon with in the world of computers and the internet.

What many don’t know however is that he actually began his business in a college hostel! In recent years, he has fostered a number of entrepreneurial ideas for social services in order to benefit less fortunate members of the global community.

Oprah Winfrey

A famous entrepreneurs list cannot be an all-male affair. Some great women can also make the list. In this case, one of the greatest female entrepreneurs ever is the talk show host Oprah Winfrey. This lady is easily the richest African American woman in the United States.

The Oprah Winfrey Show is one of the biggest talk shows on planet earth. She is worth billions of dollars and she has given a substantial amount of cash to charity.

Ted Turner

It is almost impossible to conceive a list of entrepreneurs without the inimitable Ted Turner. This man is the founder of CNN. He is also one of the largest land owners in America.

More to the point, he is a well-known philanthropist and has a habit of making astonishing donations to noble causes.

Roman Abramovich

The list of famous entrepreneurs is not an all-American affair. From far away Russia comes a colorful character called Roman Abramovich. Mr. Abramovich is a Russian Jew with extensive interests in the oil industry. He is better known as the owner of the popular Chelsea Football club. This club is based in London and is easily one of the great soccer clubs of Europe.

Apart from his Jewish ancestry and Russian citizenship, Abramovich also holds an English passport so he can be rightly described as an English-Russian Jew.

Warren Buffett

This man can be described as the original stock market investor. As an entrepreneur, his approach is quite simple. He buys and sells stocks for a living. This is all he does and he has made billions of dollars from this business.

He owns Berkshire Hathaway and this is one corporation that has always stood the test of time. He is also a great philanthropist and has collaborated with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to raise money for noble causes in some cases. You should try to see him at one of his talks, if the opportunity arises, as he is one of the most famous motivational  business speakers in business circles.

Chief Antonio Deinde Fernandez

From every indication, Chief Fernandez is not the guy next door. He is Nigerian-born but he lives in New York. He also happens to be the UN permanent representative for Central African Republic. Fernandez is a Yoruba Chief but he has Brazilian connections.

He has served as Ambassador-at-Large for Angola and Togo.  He runs Petro Inett which is registered in Paris and he has extensive holdings in other industries too. He is easily one of the richest Africans of all time.

From this list of entrepreneurs, some facts are immediately obvious. A lot of people may want to be entrepreneurs. On the other hand, not everybody can actually get to the entrepreneur destination. It takes guts, skill, drive and a bit of luck to become an entrepreneur and remain an entrepreneur.
